Aletheia Publishing @ The Philippine Book Festival

Looking for fiction from Mindanao in the upcoming Philippine Book Festival at the World Trade Center? Check out PROCLIVITIES: Stories from Kidapawan at The Indie Publishers Collab PH booth.

The Philippine Book Festival (PBF) is the largest Filipino book festival coming this June 2 to 4 at the World Trade Center in Manila. Unlike the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) where about half of the selection also comprises imported titles or books by foreign authors, the PBF is an event that "celebrates the best of Philippine literature, culture, and content, that brings education, entertainment, and shopping together in one thrilling festival for families, friends, and book enthusiasts alike," said NBDB Executive Director Charisse Aquino-Tugade, during the media press conference. "It’s the first ever in the country, where the spotlight is on Filipino books, creators, and readers," she added.

Organized by the National Book Development Board (NBDB), the Philippine Book Festival will feature book signings with hundreds of Filipino writers and creators as well as established and independent Filipino publishers featuring their new and backlist titles across all genres.

Aletheia Publishing is exhibiting the book PROCLIVITIES at The Indie Publishers Collab PH booth.

Written by Palanca Award-winning author Karlo Antonio Galay David, PROCLIVITIES is a collection of short stories that explore the author's fascination with the peculiar manifestations of trauma and the complex psychology of the Modern Mindanao Settler. Each tale is brilliantly complemented by the hypnotic artwork of fellow Mindanawon artist Raffael David Westram, whose black and white illustrations playfully invite viewers to analyze them like psychometric inkblots. You may find more details about the book here.
